General Stamping & Metalworks recently treated our employees to a cookout luncheon.  Our management team, turned grill masters, were thrilled for the opportunity to thank our team members, as we could not achieve the things that we do without their help.  

At GSM, curiosity is one of our core values; the pursuit of knowledge that enables us to excel. These two managers recently completed an eight-week leadership program where they passionately embraced new ideas and perspectives, while increasing self-awareness.    Thank you, Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) for offering programs like this for our community of leaders in manufacturing, and congratulations, Kaleb VanOrt and Ryan Woolwine, on this significant achievement!    

General Stamping & Metalworks (GSM) welcomed nearly 100 students to our facility on October 4, 2019 for National Manufacturing Day. Students were welcomed by the Director of Cultural Development where they learned about the history of GSM. This brief introduction was followed by a safety presentation. Students then participated in a facility tour where they were met with industry specific pathway activities. South Bend’s On Demand program supports local employers in helping build skill sets of their employees. Through GSM’s partnership with the City of South Bend, 13 GSM employees received the opportunity to attend training aimed at expanding lean and manufacturing skill sets. Three employees participated in the Skills for Success Boot Camp that began in June, 2018 and concluded in December, 2018.
