New Building Concepts
Original content posted 4/18/2014: From the beginning in 1922, our people have always known that GSMW’s most valuable asset is our customer relationships. As a result, our unique customer-centered ethic empowers us to make extraordinary customer service a daily routine. While going the extra mile is included at no extra charge, it is one of the building blocks of our business’ foundation. As a result of staying true to this mind-set, our business continues to grow. Consequently, we identified a need to expand our facilities to enable us to serve our customers as we have for 90+ years. (See: Figure 1)
Of course, this level of service can only be delivered by people who are properly equipped and fully prepared. Due to this fact, GSMW consistently reinvests in training and best-in-class technology. We have twice been listed on the Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County’s Gold Honor Roll for capital investment. In December 2008, we opened a state of the art learning center seen below (See: Figure 2). This ensures that our employees have ready access to the best knowledge in the industry.
From Concept to Building…
General Stamping & MetalWorks is committed to meeting customer requirements by engaging every employee in the continual improvement of our processes. As we broke ground building our new facility, we went through many changes and advancements in alignment with that practice. The original concept provided a good foundation while we continued to identify and implement best-in-class ideas. During the process we found opportunities to make every aspect of our manufacturing world class. (See: Figure 3)
